An Indian restaurant on the A420 between Swindon and Oxford has been handed a Blue Ribbon Good Food Award for excellence.

The Snooty Mehmaan in Littleworth, Faringdon, serves authentic Indian food to its customers.

General manager Hassan Syed, 46, is proud of the award, which is one of many the restaurant has received.

Hassan attributed the award to the quality of food created by chefs who have worked with Gordon Ramsay before.

He explained that the chefs are from different parts of India and are able to make the dishes as authentic as possible. He says a lot of the recipes are homemade recipes taken from the area that the dishes originate from.

Hassan said: “The food is being cooked by the best chefs, they have previously worked with Gordon Ramsay, they have been providing the same quality since 2010.

“They cook authentic food, we have chefs from all over India, they cook it in a home style.

“The team has won multiple awards so we take it in a nice way and don’t let it go to our heads.”

The Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes “recognise the hard-working teams who strive for culinary excellence within their field” and is chosen for “their food quality, service and value” according to the Good Food Award website.
