A police dog helped find a driver who ran away from officers near Swindon.
PD Vagus and his handler attended an area of Highworth shortly after 9.30pm on Monday night after police tried to stop a vehicle which sped off.
The person behind the wheel of the car was seen getting out near Copper Beeches and fleeing the scene.
The suspect ran into nearby bushes but, after searching the area, the cop’s canine picked up his scent and followed it to some undergrowth where the man was hiding.
A man in his 40s from Swindon was then arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and driving with no insurance.
He remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station while the investigation continues and enquiries are ongoing.
