A primary school not far from Swindon has been put up for sale for £1.5 million.

Shrivenham Church of England Primary School, on the High Street in the village, has been listed by Zoopla.

The school is still being used despite being up for sale.

A public consultation was carried out in 2021 to find a new site for the school as the current one does not allow for expansion when required.

A new school is now under construction and staff and pupils will be able to move in next year. The plans were approved by the Department for Education.

The current site is therefore being sold to help fund the construction of the new school.

A spokesperson for the Faringdon Learning Trust, which is responsible for the school, said: “We are delighted that the new school will offer improved facilities for the pupils and will be for the long-term benefit of the village.”

The website states that the building has potential for development and various uses, subject to planning.
