The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this month.

WROUGHTON: Miley Rusher, of Hay Lane, has been sentenced for drink driving and theft.

The 33-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of driving a stolen VW Taigo along the A3102 Hay Lane on April 15, 2023, without insurance after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in her breath - namely 62 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - exceeded the prescribed limit, and then failing to stop when required by police.

She has been banned from driving for 36 months, fined £300, and ordered to pay £300 in court costs plus £120 to fund victim services.

RODBOURNE: Rikki Arkley, of Bruce Street, has been sentenced for assault by beating.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting a woman in Swindon on May 6, 2023.

The defendant has been fined £860 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as £34 to fund victim services.

COATE: Kendrick Raj, of Queens Drive, has been sentenced for sexual assault.

The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to intentionally touching an adult woman without her consent in Swindon on May 1, 2023.

He has been fined £300 and must also pay £85 in court costs as well as £34 to fund victim services.

PARK SOUTH: Vance Montgomery, of Leighton Avenue, has been sentenced for failing to provide a blood sample to police.

The 62-year-old changed his plea to guilty in relation to the charge, which details that failed without reasonable excuse to provide a specimen of blood for a laboratory test when suspected of having been in charge of a vehicle on June 21, 2023, as part of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence.

He received a £540 fine and 10 penalty points on his driving licence, and must also pay £85 in court costs as well as £216 to fund victim services.

WALCOT: Kye Fox, of Drakes Way, has been sentenced for assault by beating.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting a woman in Swindon on August 21, 2023.

The defendant has been fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs.

TOWN CENTRE: Michael McDonagh, of East Street, has been sentenced for interfering with a vehicle.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to meddling with a Renault Megane on Shrivenham Road in Swindon on October 28, 2023, with the intention that an offence of theft of said motor vehicle or part of it or of anything carried in or on it should be committed.

He received a community order which requires him to carry out up to 25 rehabilitation activity days and pay a £150 fine as well as £85 in court costs.

CHIPPENHAM: Adam Forester, of Tudor Close, has been sentenced for criminal damage.

The 37-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to damaging a woman’s front door in Chippenham on March 19, 2023.

He has been fined £269 and ordered to pay 85 in court costs as well as £108 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Guilherme De-Freitas, of Broad Street, has been fined for speeding.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Traffic along Queens Drive at more than 40mph on October 18, 2023.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence along with a £291 fine, and must also pay £90 in court costs as well as £116 to fund victim services.

WEST LAVINGTON: Hubert Zurek, of High Street, has been sentenced for failing to provide a breath sample to police.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence, which happened on October 27, 2023 in Swindon.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £323, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £129 to fund victim services.
