Three Christmas trees have been put up in Swindon to “enhance the festive atmosphere”.
South Swindon Parish Council has placed the trees across the parish and hosted community switch-on events for each location.
They now stand at Broadgreen Community Centre, Badbury Park Community Hub, and Cavendish Square.
The festivities saw performances from local youth choirs, including Rhythmix Goa who performed at Broadgreen and Goddard Park Primary School’s choir.
At Badbury Park, the new community library hosted a special festive storytime for the small children, with a visit from Santa who delivered gifts to children.
The parish council chose the locations to enhance the festive atmosphere in the heart of the community, providing a joyful backdrop for residents and visitors.
Neil Hopkins, chair of South Swindon Parish Council, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people come out and celebrate the start of the festive season with us.
“The placement of these Christmas trees is a symbol of our commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness and festive spirit within our community.
“I’d like to thank all participants, performers, and attendees who made these events memorable.
“The trees are in place until the beginning of January, so I encourage residents to visit and enjoy them over the festive period.”
