Motorists are being warned of delays at a busy Swindon roundabout with road works set to return.
Coate Roundabout has undergone several phases of roadworks throughout 2023 which has caused motorists delays to their journeys.
The maintenance originally commenced on Monday, March 27, with the aim of demolishing the subways in the area under Queen's Drive and Marlborough Road.
These were replaced by a surface-level toucan crossing and, in August, the traffic lights were out of use whilst the new crossing lights at the roundabout had not yet been switched on.
Work continued until September, but now Swindon Borough Council has revealed work will return this week.
The latest phase of work in the area is set to begin on Thursday, November 30, from 8pm to 6am on Friday.
A Swindon Borough Council spokesperson said: “Work was completed at Coate roundabout this year and our contractor will be returning next Thursday, to complete some snagging works which we’ve identified.
“They will reinstate the road in front of the new kerbs along Shaftesbury Avenue at the exit and approach to Coate Roundabout.
“As they will need a lot of equipment to complete this, the entrance to Shaftesbury Avenue will be closed so the work can be completed safely.
“A signed diversion route will be set out on the night directing drivers around this closure.”
