A Swindon house has been partially closed and the person living there was arrested after police carried out a drugs raid.

Neighbourhood officers conducted a drugs warrant at the address in Radstock Avenue after the property was suspected to be the centre of “anti-social behaviour and suspected drug activity.”

Drug paraphernalia was discovered and a partial closure order has now been obtained through Swindon Magistrates Court.

Police have appealed for members of the public to come forward with any similar concerns in their neighbourhoods.

A/PS Whettam said: "Part of our neighbourhood policing role is to look at medium and long-term problems with a view of reducing the impact on those living in the community.

“We want to provide members of our communities with reassurance that we are taking anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity seriously and doing what we can to tackle these issues.

“We will continue to patrol the area and ensure the order is being adhered to over the next few months at all different times of the day and night and would urge anyone with concerns to call 101.”

Anyone with information or concerns regarding ongoing drug supply or anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhood has been to call 101.

In an emergency, or when a crime is in progress, people should always call 999.
