A Swindon Town player has had his car broken into in a busy car park in Swindon.

Forward Abu Kanu has made four senior appearances for the club since being promoted from the academy in 2022.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, he posted photos of a vehicle on Friday evening with a smashed window, and glass on the ground.

Kanu captioned the pictures: “Sums up a night in Swindon”.

Police are currently investigating the incident and have asked anyone with information to come forward.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We have received a report of a car being broken into in Regent Circus, Swindon, on the evening of November 23.

“We are still in the early stages of our investigation and our enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference 54230125104.”

Kanu made his senior debut against Crystal Palace U21 in a 2-0 defeat in the EFL Trophy second round.
