Swindon roads are set to be covered in grit as temperatures drop to minus one degrees over night.
Swindon Borough Council have announced that roads around the town are set to be covered with grit.
The council announced that gritters will be out from 8pm on Wednesday, November 29.
Over 200 miles of road will be covered over night.
In a post on Twitter, a spokesperson for the council said that the roads are being gritted to make roads safer for Swindon residents and to “please take care if you're out and about”.
The post also advised residents to check their website if they had questions on when the decision is made to grit the roads as well as the routes that are taken while the grit is laid along the streets.
Temperatures are supposed to drop to as low as minus one degrees over night which may result in icy roads.
The Met Office predicts that temperatures will drop to zero degrees at 1am on Thursday, November 30. It will then drop to minus one degrees at 2am and stay like that until 6am and return to zero degrees at 7am.
