New drivers in Swindon will have to wait over five months for a driving test according to new data.
Data from the DVSA has revealed that it takes an average of 21.86 weeks after booking a test to take it in the region, worse than the 15.3-week wait in October 2022.
It is the maximum 24-week wait for a slot at Swindon's test centre which is the same level of delays at the county's two other locations of Chippenham and Salisbury.
This means there has been no improvement from last year when the waits in the town were just as long.
Those living in the South West will have to wait an average of over five months before they can take their test.
There are a number of test centres that help beat driving test waiting times if learners are not looking to travel miles to a different area.
Trowbridge offers the shortest waiting times in Wiltshire with a waiting list of eight weeks.
The new study includes information revealed by a Freedom of Information request from Adrian Flux, one of the UK’s largest motor insurance brokers.
