A car dealership has closed temporarily after a fire at a Swindon business park.
Fire crews were on the scene at Delta Business Park in West Swindon after 9.30pm on Friday night (December 1).
The Swindon Audi showroom was then shut the following day on Saturday due to what the business described as “unforeseen circumstances” in a Facebook post.
At 4pm on Saturday, the building was empty with no sign of staff. An area at the side of the building was cordoned off using tape bearing the words 'fire do not cross'.
At 11.11pm on Friday, December 1, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service warned residents of smoke coming from the area in a post on X.
A spokesperson wrote: "We are currently dealing with a commercial property fire on the Delta Business Park in Swindon.
"Local residents are advised to avoid the area and keep windows closed due to the smoke plume."
A spokesperson for the car dealership wrote on Facebook: “Due to unforeseen circumstances Swindon Audi is temporarily closed.
“Colleagues remain on hand to assist with your enquiries via telephone, email and through our website.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
