Police have issued a major update about the incident that took place at a railway station on the Wiltshire border yesterday.

British Transport Police announced this morning that the police were called to the station at around 3.07pm yesterday, Sunday, December 3 following reports that a person had been struck by a train.

Paramedics also attended, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

All lines were blocked and train services between Swindon and Cheltenham Spa (via Gloucester) were cancelled or delayed following the incident, with the lines reopening last night.
