The pavement on a town centre street described as a trip hazard has become an eyesore after a hasty repair job.
Laura Patterson said she had been complaining for more than two years about the state of the surface outside her house on Ponting Street.
Her elderly neighbour has tripped on the uneven pavement several times, and after the most recent occasion, Laura contacted the council again to highlight the problem.
She returned home last Friday to find that the council had attempted to even out the pavement but was shocked at the result.
Laura added: "The pavement outside my house is still a trip hazard. This is terrible, it's an eyesore.
"I've been reporting this for more than a year and still heard nothing until Friday and that’s what they class as a repair."
A more thorough and permanent fix for the pedestrian path will be carried out in the near future.
A Swindon Borough Council spokesman said: “This was a temporary repair, but as the pictures show, it’s not up to standard.
“We’ll be returning this week to do a better job.
"A full repair of the pavement has been added to next year’s maintenance programme.”
