A Swindon man who has previously been convicted of domestic abuse is now facing charges for having a mobile phone in prison.
Jason Ranford, the former boss of the Brunel Rooms nightclub in Swindon, was jailed for two years in Erlestoke prison for attacking his wife.
The now 37-year-old had admitted in June 2022 to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was sentenced to two years in prison by Swindon Crown Court.
Now Ranford, of Hinton Parva Lane, is set to appear in court again after being accused of having a mobile phone in prison without authority on January 6, 2023.
Ranford pleaded not guilty when appearing before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, December 7.
His trial will begin on February 29, 2024
