Gok Wan is coming to Swindon next year and will be partying the night away as MECA set up a ‘disco garden’ in the car park.
The fashion icon is coming to MECA for Easter Sunday, March 31 and will be appearing alongside Todd Terry, an American DJ and record producer. The event will run from 4pm to midnight.
Attendees will get the chance to dance outside and listen to music as organisers are setting up what is described as a disco garden specifically for the event in the Regent Circus venue's car park.
The famous venue is hosting a Café Mambo Ibiza night and promises residents of Swindon “an evening of Ibiza Classics”. House music will be playing from start to finish with DJs playing inside and outside of the venue.
The first release of tickets has almost already sold out, according to MECA.
Justin Britchford, manager at MECA, said: “We’re obviously really excited to have such a big name coming to Swindon and the event is looking very very busy with tickets being sold already.
“It will be banging, it will be a great night.”
When Justin was asked what the evening was going to look like, he replied: “Sold out”.
Craig Shields, 36, who is promoting the event, said: “We have got two fantastic headliners and the Café Mambo brand is a globally recognised institution of electronic music so everything seems to be going in the right direction, the Meca has a great history of successful events.
“This on the face of things does have a five star line up and it is on Easter Sunday which is one of the biggest party nights of the year so there isn’t any reason that it shouldn’t be a sold out night.
"The night will have incredible visuals but more than anything, incredible music.
“Gok Wan is a household name for his TV work but he is now known as a fully respected DJ and he is a fantastic DJ and he is going to bring an element of fun and vibrancy to the event.
“Todd Terry has a been a part of Café Mambo for almost twenty years now. People really link Todd to the Mambo brand in a really significant way.”
Tickets are available on the Event Hype website.
