A spate of high-value retail thefts around a Wiltshire town have led to the arrest of a suspect.
A 54-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday (December 13) in connection with the crimes in Marlborough and charged with seven offences of theft.
He was also arrested for failing to appear at court in relation to a previous theft in August.
He was remanded in custody overnight to appear before the courts on Thursday.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers will be continuing with foot patrols in the town centre over the Christmas period as part of Operation Elf, in an attempt to prevent shoplifting and other retail related crime.”
