A man in his 50s died after a tree fell onto his car close to the Wiltshire border during Storm Henk.
The victim, from the Bath area, was driving on the A433 Tetbury Road near Kemble on Tuesday, January 2.
Police were called at around 3.15pm to a reports that a large tree had fallen onto the road near the junction with the A429, on the outskirts of Cirencester.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, attended the incident.
Despite the efforts of those at the scene, the man died.
His next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
The road remains closed this morning, Wednesday, January 3 as recovery and investigation work continues.
Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes.
Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to officers has been asked to provide information online by completing an online form on Gloucestershire police's website quoting incident 276 of January 2.
