Queen Camilla has spoken out about the King’s health during a visit to Deacon & Son jewellers in Swindon.
King Charles III is preparing to undergo a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate this week.
Buckingham Palace announced the news about the King’s health on Wednesday, January 17, just 90 minutes after Kensington Palace said Kate was in hospital following abdominal surgery.
Four days later, Charles’ former sister-in-law, Sarah, Duchess of York was confirmed to have been diagnosed with skin cancer.
But royal health worries have not stopped Camilla from carrying out her royal duties.
Speaking to Jessie Jackson, an 86-year-old Swindon local waiting among the crowds outside Deacons on Wood Street, The Queen said that the King “is fine”.
Ms Jackson, who stood waving a flag outside the Swindon jewellery shop, was one of those who got to speak to Camilla and ask how Charles was doing.
“She’s lovely,” said Ms Jackson after shaking the Queen’s hand.
Nicky Jackson, 48, who accompanied Jessie, added: “She’s a big royalist this one (Jessie), so she was very excited.
“We didn’t ask about Kate. We forgot about poor Kate.”
Queen Camilla's latest statement on the King's health comes during her visit to Deacon & Son jewellery shop in Swindon Old Town on Monday, January 22.
The shop was celebrating its 175th birthday, and the royal visit saw scores of locals take to the street with flags to welcome the Queen.
Earlier that day, Camilla also toured a domestic violence refuge to mark the service’s 50th anniversary.
