A new housing estate in Swindon is almost finished, its developers say.

Construction work has been underway at the Bellway Ridgeway Park development in Wroughton for some time now, but the end is in sight.

The development includes 103 new homes at an 14-acre site off Marlborough Road, with 86 of these already occupied by residents and only one home remaining for sale.

Work began at Ridgeway Park at the end of 2020. A sales centre opened in 2021, followed by a four-bedroom Philosopher showhome in April 2022.

Christel Hawkins, Sales Manager for Bellway South West, said: “Although it is a new development, Ridgeway Park already has a real sense of community. As more people have moved into their homes, it has been heartening to see neighbours getting to know each other.

“The outdoor spaces are great places for people to get together and we have provided more than one-and-a-half acres of landscaped areas. This includes a central children’s play area and a wooded area with protected trees. These public spaces are designed to give residents and the wider community a chance to enjoy the natural world on their doorstep.”

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway is contributing more than £50,000 towards off-site allotments and more than £45,000 to improve off-site sports facilities in the village.
