A nail artist who moved to Swindon to pursue her dreams has been nominated for a national award.

Eliza Zganiacz grew up in Poland but made the move to Wiltshire five years ago to become a top nail technician.

She has now been nominated as a finalist at the 2024 Hair and Beauty Awards in the category of ‘Nail Technician of The Year’.

The move to Swindon in 2019 was a quick decision for Eliza who was drawn to the area’s heritage and nature spots.

“I decided to move to Swindon because the town boasts a rich history and beautiful countryside surroundings, making it an attractive place to live,” she said.

“Additionally, having family already here played a significant role in my decision.”

The 27-year-old runs Atelier N°3, and already has a strong customer base.

“Despite having regular clients, I always welcome new ones, as my work is not just a source of income for me,” said Eliza.

“It's primarily my passion, allowing women and others to feel more attractive, confident, and relaxed.

“My top priority is ensuring a hygienic environment and providing a personalized experience for each client, drawing on my knowledge to meet their specific needs."

Eliza originally wished to become a vet but her dreams suddenly changed to the beauty industry after developing a love for art.

“Since childhood, my dream was to become a vet and I pursued that dream for years, earning a veterinary technician diploma,” she revealed.

“However, my passion for artistry drew me towards nails, and I decided to follow my heart and focus on creating beautiful nail designs.

“My journey with nails began at the age of 16, fuelled by a deep desire for professional growth and perfection.

“I have always been attentive to even the smallest details, making me my own toughest critic.”

The 2024 Hair and Beauty Awards finals will take place in Birmingham on Saturday, June 1, and will be attended by JLS singer Aston Merrygold.

A spokesperson said: “The UK Hair and Beauty Awards mission is to support businesses of all sizes and expose all candidates to new opportunities in the hair and beauty world, no matter their financial or social status.

“HBA is breaking down barriers to support smaller industry businesses, helping contestants build followings and recognition, even if they don’t win.”
