New data has revealed that the demand for new build properties has risen by almost a quarter compared to a year ago.

It has found that Swindon is one of the UK’s most popular locations for home buyers, with demand increasing by 23 per cent year on year.

The starting price for new build properties in Swindon is less than half the average price across the UK, according to this data.

The New Homes For Sale website compared data regarding the demand for these types of housing between the same time period in 2023 and 2024.

The entry prices for new build properties are almost £165,000 less compared to the national average of £284,950 as of November 2023. The price of properties in Swindon start at around £120,000.

The data also found that 70 per cent of those searching for new build properties are first time buyers.

Vernon Pethard, Founder and Director of newhomesforsale.co.uk, said: “I think the £33 million regeneration plans within the town centre, its positive transport links and more affordable entry price point puts Swindon in a strong and attractive position for prospective buyers."
