The father of the victim of a brutal assault has slammed Wiltshire Police as his son's attackers remain on the loose three months on.

Clive's son, aged in his 20s, was left with lacerations to his face, a fractured cheek and a fractured eye socket after he and another man were attacked by a group of three to four men at Eastmere in Liden.

It happened between 9pm and 10pm on November 17, 2023.

The victim's father is unhappy with the slow progress in catching those responsible for this apparently unprovoked attack.

Weeks have passed since the police issued an appeal for information about the crime yet no arrests appear to have been made.

Clive told the Adver: "All I want is justice for my son, we all do. He is so quiet and doesn’t look for trouble.

"I wasn't with him when the attack happened. I got a call from my daughter, and I was so mad and upset.

"He was knocked unconscious from behind so he didn't see who did it, and his work bag has gone missing and not been found.

"He's doing alright now, but he had to have surgery in Oxford and spend nine weeks off work.

"I will not give up until I find out who did this to him, new information keeps coming up, and we still need answers.

"As a family, we are disgusted with the way police are investigating this because they've done nothing.

"His mum called them once a week after it happened, asking when they would come out and make a statement, but they kept changing the dates, and they finally turned up seven weeks later.

"They said they would do door-to-door enquiries but we haven't seen any, they're a waste of space.

"We're doing the work for them. His sister knocked on people's doors to see if they'd seen or heard anything, while I put posters up around the area and offered a £500 reward for information.

"The police may have given up but I will not."

Wiltshire Police have been approached for comment.

A previous appeal said: "We believe there may be witnesses to this incident and would urge residents living in the local area to check doorbell cameras, dashcam or CCTV from the evening for any relevant footage.

"If you can help, please call 101 and quote crime reference number 54340122132.

"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
