A pedestrian has died days after being hit by a car in Swindon

The woman in her 30s, who has yet to be named, was hit by a car on Whitbourne Avenue at around 6.40pm on Thursday, February 22, and taken to hospital. 

She was initially said by Wiltshire Police not to have suffered life-changing injuries, but on Sunday (February 24) the force confirmed that she had died. 

A police spokesperson said: "We have been made aware that a pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, who was involved in a road traffic collision in Whitbourne Avenue, Swindon, on Thursday has sadly died.

"Our Serious Collision Investigation Team is currently investigating to establish the circumstances around her death.

"We would ask the public not to speculate about the circumstances of the incident."

No arrests were made at the time, but the police have now made an appeal for witnesses who may have seen what happened to come forward.
