Police officers remain at the scene of a murder investigation after a man was found dead in a Swindon suburb at the weekend.
Emergency services were first called to the scene at Westbourne Court, Rodbourne, in the early hours of Sunday morning (February 25) following what Wiltshire Police have described as a 'serious assault'.
When they arrived on the scene, a man in his 50s was found dead.
The incident is now being treated as a suspected murder and a man in his 30s has been arrested and remains in police custody.
“This is a serious incident which has sadly resulted in a man losing his life," said Det Supt Chris Feerick.
“I appreciate the community concern this incident will cause but please be reassured that at no point was there a threat to the wider public.”
Although Wiltshire Police are yet to issue any further update on the arrest, recent photos confirm that officers are still at the scene on Monday morning and a house in the street has been cordoned off while the Major Crime Investigation team carry out their work.
"It is a really lovely, family-orientated neighbourhood," said one resident Li Thoo, who was surprised at the investigation.
“Usually it is a nice area but incidents do happen from time to time," added Dariusz, who lives around the corner from the crime scene,
