An Indian restaurant and takeaway reported for its acts of charity has gone up for sale in the last week.

Grill Box & Tiffin Express in John Street has been put on the market for £59,950 having been owned by the current owners since 2014.

The advert describes the double-fronted restaurant as having "a great reputation and fantastic customer base serving homemade Indian dishes made by the most skilled chefs".

The owner now wants to move on to new ventures after ten years within the industry.

It currently has a food hygiene rating of 4 and all fixtures and fittings are included within the sale.

However, the business has previously featured in the Adver for being involved in a large-scale act of charity. 

The business owner, Tony Miah, partnered with his daughter Minira Gale to cook spaghetti bolognese for the town’s homeless.

22-year-old Minira Gale spent £400 of her own money on supplies and delivery drivers while her father provided containers and cutlery. 

The property is being sold as a leasehold, with an advised rent of £288.45 per week.

The business has a 5am licence, with a weekly turnover of around £5,500 - £6,000.
