The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this week.

EASTLEAZE: Dan Soare, of Longstock Court, has been sentenced for causing serious injury through careless driving.

The 35-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to injuring a woman by driving a Vauxhall Corsa along County Road on September 3, 2023, without due care and attention.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £300, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as £120 to fund victim services.

TROWBRIDGE: Marcella Higgins, of Lamplighters Walk in Trowbridge, has been sentenced for breaching a criminal behaviour order.

The 38-year-old changed her plea from not guilty to guilty regarding a charge of breaking her order by shouting abuse out of her window at a member of the public in Trowbridge on January 17, 2024.

She was also found guilty of shouting at her neighbour and playing loud music, shouting and making banging noises inside her property for over two hours on July 17, 2023, playing loud music on August 6, shouting at her neighbour again on August 15, playing loud music for hours on August 16, and playing music at an excessive and unreasonable level on September 23.

The order was originally made on July 17, 2023.

She received a 38-week prison sentence which has been suspended for 18 months and must carry out up to 20 rehabilitation activity days.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Andrew Gore, of Lime Kiln, has been sentenced for threatening to damage or destroy property.

The 39-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to threatening to burn down his home address. He made this threat to a police officer.

He must pay £100 in compensation and a £100 fine as well as £85 in court costs.

HIGHWORTH: Alister Malpass, of Stapleton Close, has been sentenced for drug driving.

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Meriva along Prospect Place on August 14, 2023, while having 6.8 micrograms of cannabis per litre of blood in his system.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £228, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as £91 to fund victim services.

LIDEN: Alan Livingstone, of Sheringham Court, has been sentenced for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence, which was aggravated due to the victim’s sexual orientation and occurred on September 8, 2023.

He must pay an £80 fine as well as £85 in court costs plus £32 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: A 17-year-old boy has been sentenced for causing actual bodily harm.

The defendant, who cannot be identified for legal reasons because of his age, pleaded guilty to assaulting a male and having a hunting knife in his possession on November 5, 2023.

He received a six-month referral order to a youth offender panel and must pay £86 in court costs as well as £26 to fund victim services.

The weapon has been forfeited and destroyed.

WALCOT: Leon Chambers, of Bilborough Drive, has been sentenced for possessing Class B drugs.

The 36-year-old pleaded guilty to having cannabis on him while in Swindon on January 22, 2024.

He received a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay £26 to fund victim services. The illegal substance has been forfeited and destroyed. 

GORSE HILL: Daniel York, of May Close, has been sentenced for drug driving.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a BMW 120 along the A346 Chiseldon on August 24, 2023 while having 2.8 micrograms of cannabis and 243 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine (cocaine) per litre of blood in his system.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as £48 to fund victim services.
