A new burger takeaway and restaurant has opened up inside a Swindon pub.
Dirty Burgerz is a brand-new burger spot that offers takeaway, delivery and an option to eat inside of the Jovial Monk in Blunsdon St Andrew in North Swindon.
As the name suggests the venue offers burgers as well as fries, milkshakes and other sides.
The business is owned by Christian Davis, 45 and started in Bristol, with Swindon being the second location to see a branch opened with 24-year-old Reece Keep at the helm.
After first attempting to find a kebab shop which had a kitchen to lease, Christian and Reece found the Jovial Monk to use.
The pub’s kitchen was not in use, so made it the perfect place to start up.
Having had a successful first week, Reece said he is already looking at the future of the business with plans to open a spot near the town centre as well as open another franchise in Wootton Bassett.
Reece and Christian believe there is a gap in the market in Swindon, claiming there are not many restaurants offering the kind of food they are offering.
Christian said he believes what makes the business stand out is how good the burgers are.
Christian said: “There’s nothing like this in Swindon, the reviews already show that everyone is saying it is the best burger they have had.
“I am really excited for the future, we have the best of everything, the best meat and the best buns.
“We are a part of the community. Dirty Burgerz has so much potential.”
Recce said he was convinced to take on the franchise after trying the burger and believes it is something the town needs.
Within a month of meeting the pair had set up the new franchise inside the pub.
Reece said: “Everyone that has tried the burgers has loved it.
“We just want to bring bold tasty burgers to Swindon.
“Having made £2,000 in the first week we really have been busy.”
Despite the pair's claims, there are already many contenders in the town offering burgers including the newly opened Kaizen Burger and Sushi as well as MrBeast Burgers two years ago.
It is not always plain sailing, with restaurant Stax and Snax closing within six months of opening its doors for the first time.
