A disqualified driver used her phone while travelling past Gablecross Police Station.
Officers stopped Gail Hickling, of High Street in Yardley Gobion, after they spotted the 60-year-old using a handheld mobile while behind the wheel of a Mazda 3 on Oxford Road on February 7.
She had no licence and was banned from driving until 2026 with 30 penalty points on her licence.
Police seized her vehicle and reported her to court, then issued a warrant after she missed her first court date.
Hickling handed herself in to Milton Keynes police station and was dealt with by the city’s magistrates on February 29, when she pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified, using a mobile phone whilst driving, and driving without insurance.
She received a six-week prison sentence which has been suspended for 12 months and must pay £85 court costs plus a £154 fine.
T/Det Con Sean Williams said: “Hickling showed no respect for the road users around her by so brazenly using her mobile phone on a busy Swindon road and right next to Gablecross police station.
“If she is caught driving within the next 12 months she will be sent straight to prison.
“The road requires your full attention at all times and behaviour of this nature is one of the most common contributory factors of serious or fatal collisions.”
