Police have issued an update about their investigation into the death of a Swindon woman who was hit by a car days earlier.

The 36-year-old was involved in a crash on Whitbourne Avenue.

She was initially taken to the hospital at the time for treatment for injuries said not to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Officers investigating the incident have determined that the circumstances of her death were not suspicious.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "The tragic death of a 36-year-old woman who passed away two days after being involved in a road traffic collision in Whitbourne Avenue, Swindon on February 22 has been determined to be non-suspicious following a coronial investigation.

"There is no evidence that the road traffic collision is linked to her death from natural causes.

"Our thoughts are with her family."

Tributes posted on social media last month described the woman, who has not been publicly identified, as a "beautiful soul".

South Swindon MP Sir Robert Buckland added: "Terribly sad news. My thoughts are with this lady's family and friends, and all who knew and loved her in the local community.
