A major A-road near Swindon is scheduled to close to all traffic, causing delays for drivers.
The northbound carriageway of the A419 will shut to motorists for one night on Thursday, March 14 while National Highways carries out roadworks in the area.
This closure is scheduled to be in force from 8pm on March 14 until 6am the following day, according to the council’s roadworks map, in an effort to reduce the impact on traffic.
Vehicles will be unable to access the busy route from junction 15 of the M4 to the northbound slip road at the Commonhead junction.
The southbound carriageway will be unaffected by the works.
National Highways says the works will include maintenance to signage in the area.
The agency, which is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, has also been completing repairs to the M4 near junction 15.
Resurfacing works have been carried out on both the eastbound and westbound carriageways, between junctions 15 and 16, in recent days.
A series of lane closures on both sides of the motorway are scheduled to be enforced over the coming weeks as this scheme continues.
