The owner of the trendy Cricklade Club described her wonderful experience of managing the establishment as it goes up for sale.

She expressed thanks to her team, chefs and customers for what she described as a fantastic seven years.

The restaurant, cafe and venue went up for sale at the start of the month with a guide price of £725,000.

Natalia Maddison, who owns 'The Club' with Simon Maddison, said: “It's been amazing. It's just a really unique place. It's become the real kind of hub for the town.

“People come here for the food, for the ambience, the community spirit. It's got a real buzz about it.

“We've done seven years and it's been brilliant.

“You know, we've come to a time where we think, right, okay, let's make a change and do something different.”

“I will be sad to be leaving, but things come to an end for you and you realise, okay, someone young will take this on.

She said she has been supported by a fantastic team in a creative atmosphere: “We've had the most amazing chefs here and been so lucky with all our staff. You know, there's a really good team here.

“They've been brilliant and many of them have stayed for years and years.”

Natalia hopes that the new owners will not change too much about the Club, saying: “We hope nothing changes because it is so popular as it is.”

The main bar and restaurant boasts a 4.5 rating on Tripadvisor for its trendy vibe and quality of food using local providers.

The estate agent selling the property, Fleurets, described it as a ‘little bit of Shoreditch in Cricklade’, and it features separate function and event spaces that could be used for weddings, parties, and live music.

Customers took the news with sadness, with one commenting: “So sorry Simon and Talia, you’ve done a really great job and hopefully some of the staff will be retained by the new owners.

“It’s been such a pleasure to have been with you since the first day.”

Natalia is hoping to now pursue her interests, travelling, walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela and writing another book.

She is already the published author of The Giant Who Eats Trees, with another book to be published soon, both books encouraging children to eat more vegetables.

“I want to be a little bit more relaxed,” She said.

“But I don't want to be too relaxed.”
