Police officers rushed to a property close to the Swindon border after the discovery of a man's body.

Officers from Thames Valley Police were alerted at 12.30pm on Monday, March 11, after the body of a man was found in Meadow Bank in Faringdon.

Shortly after officers arrived, the man, who was in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the man's death has not yet been revealed, but Thames Valley Police have reassured the public that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

His identity has not yet been revealed to the public.

"Officers were called to a property in Meadow Bank, Faringdon, at just after 12.30pm (March 11) following the discovery of a man’s body," said a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police.

"Sadly, the man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"His death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

"Work is ongoing to identify and notify the man's next of kin."
