A driver using fake ID was snared by police after being caught going just 30mph in the outside lane of the motorway.

The motorist, behind the wheel of a black BMW,  was spotted by Wiltshire Police's Roads Policing Unit driving way under the national speed limit on the M4 in Wiltshire.

He was subsequently arrested.

The incident was shared on the Wiltshire Specialist Ops Twitter page, which provides updates on the Roads Policing Unit as well as the Armed Response team.

In the post, the police asked for anyone who saw the driver to get in touch.

It said: "One in the cells tonight after being seen at 30mph in Lane 3, causing some significant concern to other motorists.
