A Lloyds Bank-owned office in Swindon is set to close.

The office in 3 New Bridge Square is for the Embark Group, an investment platform and retirement solutions provider, which was acquired by the banking firm in 2022.

It has continued to operate under Lloyds until this year when plans were made to close the Swindon office.

The office's last day was on March 15, with the firm confirming that staff working there had been 'fully briefed' on the changes.

It is understood that roughly 40 people were affected, but there will be 'other offices they will be able to work from'.

An Embark Group spokesperson said: "Our Swindon office has closed.

"Colleagues who typically work at this site will be able to work from the Gloucestershire office in Barnwood, or in our new refurbished offices in Bristol Harbourside."

The two Lloyds Banks in Swindon - on Regent Street and Old Town's High Street - remain unaffected by these closures.

However, the banking firm has also confirmed plans to close the remaining bank in neighbouring Marlborough, leaving the town without any banking facilities.
