Swindon-born star Billie Piper has opened up about the struggles she faces co-parenting with controversial figure Laurence Fox.
The actress, who was born and bred in Swindon and attended Bradon Forest School in Purton, co-parents two children aged 11 and 15 with her ex-husband Laurence Fox, after the pair split in 2016.
Billie rarely comments on her relationship with the actor-turned-political-activist, who was recently suspended by GB News over "misogynistic" comments he made about a female journalist.
But speaking in an interview with British Vogue, the Swindon actress said that co-parenting while controversies are ongoing comes with "enormous difficulty."
"What is paramount for me is the privacy and anonymity of my children. They deserve not to be extensions of the parents and to forge their own identities," she said.
The British Vogue interview in which Billie opened up about her ex-husband and parenting took place just days before a High Court judge ruled that Fox had libelled two people in a separate incident.
When asked how she copes with Fox's ongoing controversy as a parent, Billie added: "I close everything down and keep a very strict routine with the kids so that there's consistency. I keep them close. That's all I can do."
"I try to keep people from telling me stuff but it's really, really hard. I don't read it but everyone wants to talk about it."
"I've had to learn the hard way that you can only control yourself and how you react to things. It's really f***ing hard. I hate that."
