Great Western Way and Mead Way in Swindon could remain closed - or partially so - for days after a burst water main.
The roads were turned into lakes on Friday morning after a burst water pipe flooded the area and caused the roads to become unpassable.
Thames Water workers rushed to the scene before 7am this morning to repair the issues as the roads were closed and caused traffic chaos in West Swindon.

Buses were diverted and evening rush-hour traffic queued as far north as Common Platt and as far south as Blagrove.
But with work still ongoing, Thames Water has now warned that Great Western Way and Mead Way could remain closed for days.
A spokesperson for Thames Water said: "We're fixing the leak. Sometimes repair teams need to dig down to the pipe by hand to be safe. For example, if it's surrounded by other utility pipes, like gas mains.
"When the repair work is finished, we will resurface the road. This may take a few days to set safely.
"We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes."
Swindon Borough Council leader Jim Robbins has reassured the public that the council are working alongside Thames Water to do everything it can.
"We are working closely with Thames Water to ensure this is rectified and roads reopened as soon as possible, however, the damage caused is significant. A further update will be sent as the works progress."
