Motorists are experiencing heavy delays heading onto busy route out of Swindon.
The source of the trouble is roadworks taking place in the A420 which has had an impact on both directions between Swindon and Oxford.
There is heavy traffic at the site of temporary traffic lights at the works at Longcot.
Traffic has an average speed of 10 miles per hour with delays of eight minutes and further delays increasing on Watchfield Roundabout Eastbound in Oxfordshire.
The works near Watchfield and Farringdon are being carried out by Oxfordshire County Council could last from March 18 to March 29.
The highway improvement is being carried out to install ducting.
Oxon Travel has advised drivers to plan ahead before heading in that direction.
