Fire crews were called to a Swindon Tesco after a fire broke out inside.
Fire engines could be seen at the Ocotal Way supermarket just after 11am.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue confirmed shortly afterwards that the area was safe.
It is understood that the cause of the commotion was a rice cooker that had caught fire, but this had already been extinguished by the time emergency services arrived.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to Tesco on Ocotal Way, Swindon at 11.01am on Monday morning after a small fire in a rice cooker.
"One crew from Swindon attended and confirmed the fire was out on arrival, with a thermal imaging camera used.
"Our stop was at 11.19am."
