There are many places that will be offering Easter egg hunts for little ones this weekend, but very few will provide a pint for the parents too.
With school officially out for the Easter holidays, many parents will be trying to find a fun way to celebrate the Easter weekend with their kids – but that doesn’t mean that parents can’t celebrate as well.
From egg hunts, bonnet competitions, bunny breakfasts and more, we’ve compiled a list of all the eggs-celent Swindon pubs offering Easter events this weekend.
Head on down with the family, and hunt down a refreshing cold drink as well as some tasty treats.
The Swindon pubs offering Easter events for the family
The King & Queen
Located on Highworth’s High Street, The King & Queen pub is welcoming the whole family to come and celebrate.
The pub will host its official Easter egg hunt from 11am to 1pm on Sunday, March 31, and all children are welcome.
Chocolate eggs will be hidden around the pub garden, and prizes are promised for the person with the best Easter bonnet.
The Spotted Cow
Although the Spotted Cow won’t be offering an Easter egg hunt this year, that doesn’t mean that the Easter bunny won’t visit.
On Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 30, the Hungry Horse chain pub will be hosting breakfast with the Easter bunny, priced at just £5 per child.
Families can come and enjoy bunny-themed pancakes, a drink and an exclusive free gift for every child.
The Shield and Dagger
On Saturday, March 30, The Shield and Dagger in Swindon will be hosting ‘Danny’s Day’ from 1-5pm.
This isn’t an Easter-specific event, but the day will include Easter arts and crafts, an egg hunt, raffles, games and much more.
Entry to the event is free, and for just £1 children can join the Easter bonnet and fancy dress competition.
Danny's Day is held in memory of Danny Lynch, a popular member of his local community who regularly visited the pub.
Danny died in November 2023 after an unsuccessful surgery for heart failure, and the charity 'Ask Danny' was launched to help support adults with learning disabilities in his memory.
Helen Browning’s Royal Oak
Located in Bishopstone, on Swindon’s outskirts, the Royal Oak will be hosting an Easter egg hunt at Eastbrook Farm.
The event, which will run on Sunday, March 31, has limited places and so families are being encouraged to book ahead.
Staff at the Royal Oak have confirmed that the event is scheduled to go ahead regardless of the wet weather.
