The owner of an extension she has been ordered to tear down has seen an application to keep it turned down.
A Mrs Saran was given permission for extensions at the front side and back of her house on Upham Road in Old Walcot in 2019 and they were built in 2020.
But a large box dormer was also put up in the upper storey which were not part of the plans.
Mrs Saran put in an application late last year requesting retrospective permission to keep the box dormer.
But that has failed because Swindon Borough Council had already started enforcement action on the box dormer.
The council issued its decision on the application at the end of last week.
It said: “The Local Planning Authority considers the development applied for is part of the operational development identified to be in breach of planning control in a pre-existing Breach of Condition Notice served on 23rd August 2023.
“Therefore, the Local Planning Authority hereby declines to determine the application.”
Discussions between Mrs Saran and the council’s planning enforcement officers continue.
