A speeding Mercedes driver caught travelling over 100mph on the M4 has been shown that the rules of the road apply to every driver, not matter how fast their car is.
Wiltshire Police's Road Policing Unit were out patrolling the M4 on Sunday, April 7, and had parked up on a bridge overlooking the M4 when they spotted a driver who had taken advantage of the clear road by breaking the law.
Officers were quick to track the speeding Mercedes driver who was travelling at 109mph.
"The driver was clearly choosing to ignore all the rules of the road as they continued in the 'fast lane' for a further 3km without any vehicles in lane one or two," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
Wiltshire Police were able to catch up with the dangerous driver to carry out all relevant checks and the driver has now been reported for speeding.
In a post put out to followers on X (formerly known as Twitter) the Road Policing Unit has warned all motorists in Wiltshire to be aware of what they call the 'fatal five'.
This includes speeding, drink and drug driving, driving whilst using a mobile phone, not wearing a seatbelt, and careless or dangerous driving.
