The skies above Swindon are set to be the scene of a military exercise possibly spanning several days, according to a notification.
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued stating that the exercise, which will allegedly involve 'multiple aircraft' conducting 'night flying without lights' from Monday night.
A NOTAM is a notice containing information essential to personnel concerned with flight operations but not known far enough in advance to be publicized by other means.
The notice extends from 8pm on Monday April 8 to April 12 and states that the hours of operation will be from 8pm to 12.59am.
Darren Carey, who runs an airshow page on Facebook, told the Advertiser he understands that the training exercise will involve helicopters lowering people onto the rooftops of a building using ropes.
People have been warned that this will be "low-level flying aircraft and at times will be very loud and can make houses shake."
