A new menopause and wellbeing venue has opened - with an unusual centrepiece.
Sally Holgate is the founder of Purton-based Mardy Moo which she has set up as a holistic safe space enclosure for women to visit and get away from the outside world.
Sally explained where the idea for the wellbeing establishment came from and why she called it 'Mardy Moo'.
"It is a polite alternative to ‘Miserable Cow’ and so Mardy Moo was born after my journey through perimenopause," she said.
"I have always been a fit, healthy, fun-loving, happy go-getter with over 30 years of experience in the health and fitness industry.
"Overnight, I changed into a mardy, lazy, fat, sweaty, boring, insensitive, forgetful, mad cow.
"After reaching out for help and feeling like I was not seen, heard or understood, I decided to help myself. I studied for over two years menopause, wellbeing, style and image. This is a perfect add-on to the fitness, nutrition and yoga qualifications already stored in my bank of knowledge. Now a fully qualified expert, I’m ready to share my extensive knowledge to other Mardy Moo’s.
"I am passionate about creating a unique, safe environment, where you can be free to share your experiences and gain lots of new ones. Whatever the reason for your visit, you will always be welcomed with a smile. I want you to leave feeling happy, knowledgeable, confident, upbeat and ready to embrace the new moo!"
The centre is located on Down Farm and at its core is a converted classic red double-decker bus.

"As a lifelong dream come true, owning a double-decker bus has been a passion of mine since I was a young girl. It's here, amidst the rustle of leaves and the flicker of firelight, that Mardy Moo comes to life.
"What sets Mardy Moo apart is not just our serene setting, but the array of offerings designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit of both men and women. From cold water therapy to intimate pods for reflection, every corner of Mardy Moo is crafted with care and intention. Our resident psychotherapist and counsellor provides personalised support.
Our signature program, "moo-ed swings and magic things," guides women through their menopause journey with grace and empowerment, offering a holistic approach that encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing."
