Temperatures are predicted to rise in Swindon during a “72-hour mini heatwave” in the UK.
After the country was battered by Storm Kathleen, the Met Office has predicted that temperatures will soar to around 20C in parts of the UK during a spell of high pressure in the coming days.
While Swindon is not expected to be affected by this “mini heatwave”, it is forecast to be warmer than average for April with highs of 17C.
Thursday, April 11
The weather in Swindon is due to remain cloudy and overcast throughout Thursday, but the temperature is set to climb throughout the day.
The Met Office forecasts that these temperatures will peak between 4pm and 7pm, with highs of 16C.
Friday, April 12
While the weather will remain cloudy or overcast for much of the day, there are due to be sunny intervals from 3pm to 6pm.
During this time, the temperatures in Swindon are set to peak at 17C, between 4pm and 5pm.
Saturday, April 13 to Sunday, April 14
Over the weekend temperatures will dip again in Swindon, according to the Met Office.
Skies will be largely cloudy across the weekend.
While it is predicted to remain warm on Saturday afternoon, with highs of 16C, it is expected that temperatures will dip on Sunday, with highs of just 11C.
