Swindon Borough Council has issued a warning to drivers after a busy road was partially closed, causing delays.
The council installed warning signage to cordon off a damaged manhole cover on Kingshill Road, near the junction with Bath Road and Okus Road, during the early hours of Thursday, April 11.
Drivers have been warned to be aware of the signage until Thames Water is able to repair the damage.
The council says they have contacted Thames Water and asked them to prioritise the works.
Motorists faced some delays in the area, as a result of the disruption, during Thursday morning rush hour.
While these delays do not appear to be major, there has been some congestion on Kingshill Road, as well as at the roundabout junction Okus Road and Bath Road, while drivers navigate the obstruction.
A spokesperson for the council said: “If you're using Kingshill Road this morning, please be aware of the warning signage close to the roundabout travelling down the hill from Bath Road and Okus Road, due to a damaged Thames Water manhole cover.
“We've contacted Thames Water to prioritise the repair.”
