A cyclist has been seriously injured in an alleged hit and run crash near a busy Swindon junction.
The cyclist, a woman in her 40s, was reportedly struck on the toucan crossing of Great Western Way, on the approach to Bruce Street Bridges roundabout just after the junction with Galton Way.
She sustained serious leg injuries in the incident and remains in hospital for treatment.
This incident took place between 8.40pm and 8.50pm on Wednesday, April 10, and the vehicle which allegedly crashed into the woman failed to stop at the scene.
At the time of writing, the identity of the driver and vehicle remains unknown, and police have launched an investigation.
Officers believe the vehicle was travelling from the Bridgemead direction towards Bruce Street Bridges.
Any witnesses, or those with information about the incident, have been urged to come forward.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury RTC between a vehicle and a cyclist yesterday evening.
“If anyone witnessed the collision, or has any information regarding the vehicle or driver involved, please contact investigating officer PC 2718 Hobbs of the Roads Policing Unit by calling 101 and quoting reference 54240040937.”
