A popular High Street shop selling clothing, jewellery and gifts has announced that it will be expanding one of its stores following huge success.

Bay Design is a family-run business first established in 2008 and currently has three stores in Malmesbury, Royal Wootton Bassett and Corsham.

The shop first started selling homemade jewellery in St Austell Bay in Cornwall and got its name from the bay view that could be seen from the first jewellery workshop's window.

But in 2016 the company chose to make Wiltshire its permanent home, expanding to sell end-of-season clothing from top high street brands and unique affordable gifts.

The company has now announced that it will be moving to a new store in Royal Wootton Bassett with twice the space.

“We are moving into the vacant unit next door in Royal Wootton Bassett, which offers us approximately double the space we currently have,” said Jo Burke from Bay Design.

“Royal Wootton Bassett is a fantastic town and has such strong community spirit so we’re excited to expand here.”

Plans for the new larger space include an expansion of the clothing on offer and a jewellery workshop moving into the back of the store.

The company has also invested in new laser technology which will allow them to personalise jewellery and gifts for customers in the store’s workshop.

Owners took to social media to share a sneak peak at some of the personalised engraved items, stating: "Items can be personalised within as little as 48 hours.

"Watch this space for more info on how to order and options available."

Speaking to the Adver, Jo added: “Our business is going from strength to strength and we are so grateful for this."

“We are just super excited about the move and we really appreciate the town council, who are our landlords, for supporting us in the move.

“The business is run by the whole family who live locally and we very much believe in serving our local community and pride ourselves in creating good relationships with our customers.

“We hope to be in the new shop in early April, but will keep customers posted via our social media pages.”

Bay Design's current premises, at 34 High Street in Royal Wootton Bassett, is due to go up for let, and locals hope that another new exciting business can make it their home.
