A warning has been given to parents in Swindon over drugs packaged in 'strange looking sweet wrappers'.
The Swindon North East and Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team has stated that drug packaging among teenagers in the town is changing.
In a post on social media, it has urged parents, carers and those working with young people to keep an eye out for the new suspect packaging.
It was also confirmed that this new style of packaging has been found on several occasions throughout the town, in homes and even in some schools, but they did not say which ones.
A spokesperson said: "Drug packaging amongst our teenagers is changing – parents, carers and those working with young people should be keeping their eyes peeled for strange-looking sweet wrappers.
Though deals may be done in the old-fashioned baggies, the drugs – be it pills, power or leaves are often kept in brightly coloured sealable bags – which often hide the smell of cannabis too.
"These have been found with young people in the community, at home and in some of our secondary schools."
