The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates' Court earlier this month.
STRATTON: Kio Smith, of Shenton Close, has been sentenced for racially aggravated criminal damage.
The 31-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to damaging the rear window of his victim's vehicle in Swindon on January 7, 2024.
He must pay £50 in compensation as well as a £100 fine plus £85 in court costs and £32 to fund victim services.
TOWN CENTRE: Frederick Moulton, of Queens Drive, has been sentenced for theft.
The 56-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to stealing cheese from Iceland in Swindon on October 3, 2023, and going equipped for burglary by having a screwdriver and glove on him while in public on October 12, 2023.
He has been fined £120 altogether, had the glove and screwdriver taken off him, and been ordered to pay £85 in court costs.
NYTHE: Kieran Smith, of Nyland Road in Nythe, has been sentenced for criminal damage.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to causing £193.80 worth of damage to a man's wing mirror at Mannington Roundabout on January 23, 2024.
He must pay £193.80 in compensation as well as £85 in court costs.
SWINDON: Samuel Hackett, of Granica Close, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 30-year-old changed his plea to guilty regarding a charge of driving a BMW 116I along Kestrel Drive on December 27, 2023, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 82 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
He has been banned from driving for 17 months, fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services.
HAYDON WICK: Wayne Hobbs, of Ray Close, has been sentenced for assault by beating.
The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting a woman in Swindon on January 24, 2024.
He received a £180 fine and must also pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.
SWINDON: David Pace, of Coulings Drive in Wantage, has been sentenced for assault by beating.
The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting a woman in Swindon on February 6, 2024.
He has been jailed for 14 days due to repeat offending.
SWINDON: Murat Bundacamanak, of Cedars Close, has been sentenced for harassment.
The 50-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to making threatening calls and sending threatening messages to a man to make him fear that violence would be used against him between May 10 and June 5, 2023.
The defendant received a community order that requires him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.
MOTORWAY: Prudvi Vadapalli, of King Edwards Road in Swansea, has been sentenced for driving without due care and attention.
The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a BMW along the M4 near Chippenham without care and attention on March 27, 2024.
He received an £80 fine and six penalty points on his driving licence, and must also pay £85 in court costs plus £32 to fund victim services.
TROWBRIDGE: George Edwards, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced for theft and burglary.
The 26-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to entering the town's Morrisons on Seymour Road on April 8, 2024, and stealing items worth £265 as well as a door, and to taking goods worth £38.40 from Trowbridge's Sainsburys on March 28, 2024.
He has been jailed for two months due to the seriousness of the offences and his offending happening within days of release from a previous custodial sentence.
The defendant must pay £38.40 in compensation to Sainsbury's.
DEVIZES: Michael Crampton, of Sheppard Close, has been sentenced for assault by beating.
The 23-year-old hit a woman in Calne on December 25, 2023. He has been fined £75 and ordered to pay £32 to fund victim services.
