A motorcyclist is due in court after allegedly failing to stop and driving away from police at speed.
The rider in question, Lawrence Oakford, 33, from Market Lavington, was noticed by officers from Wiltshire Police's Roads Policing Unit on Friday, April 12.
But after police attempted to pull the bike over, Yamaha FZS, the motorcyclist is alleged to have fled at high speed which sparked the beginning of a police chase.
However, police said that Oakford reached such high speeds through Avebury 'in excess of 130mph' that the pursuing officers decided to end the chase.
#RPU on Friday 12/04/24 had the rider of this motorcycle you see disappear off in the distance failing to stop at speeds in excess of 130mph. Pursuit was aborted but the driver much to his surprise arrested last night. Charged/Remanded and off to court #RoadSafety #SillyGames… pic.twitter.com/gxoH0MuN2K

Although Oakford escaped on the Friday, it was confirmed on the Wiltshire Specialist Ops Twitter page that this was short-lived
This is because officers paid a visit to his home, where he was arrested and subsequently charged for failing to stop and driving dangerously.
A video of the bike pulling away from officers was also shared in the Twitter post.
Oakford was due in Salisbury Law Court on April 15.
